Currumbin punches well above its weight as a wedding destination. The beach is small, the headland (with Elephant Rock at its tip) is genuinely iconic, and the surf club has had a recent refit that's made it one of the most-booked reception venues on the southern Gold Coast. Most of my Currumbin weddings happen between Elephant Rock and the creek mouth, with the ceremony on the sand and the reception walking distance away.
Beach ceremonies at Currumbin need a City of Gold Coast permit, which is straightforward but worth lodging early. The popular ceremony spot is the foreshore between the surf club and Elephant Rock — eastern light, the rock in the photos, the surf club for cocktails afterwards. The creek mouth at the southern end is a quieter alternative if you want a calmer water backdrop.

Currumbin Beach Vikings SLSC is the headline reception venue — beachfront, refurbished, with both indoor and deck options. Sands by the Sea sits a little south for resort-style stays. The Elephant Rock café handles smaller events. For the ceremony itself, the beach in front of the surf club is the favourite spot. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (technically across the highway) runs garden ceremonies too.

Yes, that's the standard Currumbin flow. The surf club is right on the foreshore, so guests walk a few steps off the beach into either the indoor function space or the deck. Makes for a seamless ceremony-to-reception transition.

On the beach in front of Elephant Rock, yes — that's the classic shot. Couples sometimes hike up to the rock itself for photos after the ceremony. The actual ceremony needs to be on the sand with the council permit.
