Byron Bay & Hinterland
Byron is one of those places that does something to people. The light is different. The air is different. And somehow, weddings here always feel like the most real version of the couple getting married.

I've been celebrating weddings in and around Byron Bay for years now, and I still get a little flutter every time I drive down the coast road and the lighthouse comes into view. There's something about this corner of the world (the hinterland farms, the barefoot beach ceremonies, the people who turn up in floral suits and bare feet) that makes it genuinely one of the most beautiful places in the world to get married.
Byron couples tend to know what they want. They're not after a stiff formal ceremony with a stranger reading from a script. They want something that sounds like them, that makes their guests laugh and cry in equal measure, and that feels less like a legal proceeding and more like the best party of their lives.
"The ceremony should feel like the couple wrote it themselves, because in a way, they did."
That's where I come in. I work closely with every couple to understand your story: how you met, what makes your relationship tick, the things you love about each other that you've never managed to say out loud. Then I turn all of that into a ceremony that's completely, unmistakably yours.
The Byron Bay area offers an extraordinary range of wedding settings. You could be exchanging vows with the Pacific Ocean behind you at The Pass, surrounded by old-growth rainforest in the hinterland, or dancing on a working farm in Bangalow by the time the sun sets. I've done them all, and I love every one.
I'm based on the Tweed Coast, which puts me right on Byron's doorstep. No travel surcharges, no drama, and I know exactly how long it takes to get from Ewingsdale to Brunswick Heads on a Saturday morning (longer than you'd think, allow extra time).
Not every couple wants a big production, and that's more than okay. Whether you're after a barefoot elopement at sunrise with two witnesses, a full ceremony for 150 guests at a hinterland property, or something in between, I've got you.
I also offer bilingual English and Spanish ceremonies, which is something couples with Latin American heritage often ask about. It's one of those things that can make a wedding feel genuinely honouring of both cultures, not just a translation, but a ceremony that weaves both languages together in a way that feels natural and moving.
Looking for a more specific area? I have dedicated pages for Brunswick Heads, Mullumbimby, Lennox Head, the Byron Bay hinterland, and Murwillumbah in the Tweed Valley. Each one covers the venues and local quirks for that specific area.
Some of the beautiful places I've had the privilege of celebrating at. I'm always excited to discover somewhere new.

"We laughed, we cried, and every single guest said it was the most personal ceremony they'd ever been to. Ellie just got us, from the very first conversation."
Yes, beach ceremonies in Byron Bay require a permit from Byron Shire Council. The good news is it's a straightforward process, and I can walk you through exactly what you need. Some beaches have specific time restrictions, so it's worth sorting this early. The Pass and Wategos are both popular and permit-friendly choices.
My pricing is transparent and based on the ceremony type, from a simple legal ceremony through to a fully custom production. Because I'm based on the Tweed Coast (right next door to Byron), there are no travel surcharges for Byron Bay and the surrounding areas. Head to my Prices page for the full breakdown, or get in touch and I'll send you all the details.
Byron Bay weather is beautiful, and occasionally dramatic. I always have a wet weather plan conversation with every couple during our ceremony planning, so if the heavens open we know exactly what we're doing. Honestly? Some of the most beautiful ceremonies I've done have had a light rain during the vows. It adds atmosphere.
Byron Bay is one of the most popular wedding destinations in Australia, and peak season (October through April) fills up fast. I'd recommend reaching out at least 12 months ahead if you have a specific date in mind, though I do occasionally have gaps for shorter lead times, so it's always worth asking.
Both! I can do fully bilingual ceremonies where key elements are in both English and Spanish, or ceremonies conducted primarily in Spanish with English for any guests who need it. We work this out together during planning. There's no one-size-fits-all approach, and it's one of my favourite types of ceremony to write.
