Hastings Point Wedding Celebrant

Hastings Point is a tiny village built around one of the most dramatic headlands on the Tweed Coast. If you want a 180-degree ocean view ceremony without crowds, this is the place.

Golden hour wedding ceremony at Hastings Point

Hastings Point sits roughly halfway between Cabarita Beach and Pottsville, on a small headland that juts out into the Pacific. The headland itself, managed by Tweed Holiday Parks, has three separate grassed ceremony areas overlooking the ocean. The village around it is tiny: a caravan park, a small foreshore reserve, the creek mouth, and not much else. That's exactly why couples seek it out.

There's no signature commercial wedding venue here, which means most Hastings Point weddings combine a headland ceremony with a reception venue back at Cabarita or Pottsville. You get the dramatic photos here, then drive five minutes either direction for dinner. It's a setup couples increasingly prefer over picking one venue that has to do everything.

"Hastings Point is the headland that delivers a view bigger than the wedding itself. Which is the point."

Where Hastings Point weddings happen

The headland is the main draw. Tweed Holiday Parks manages the three grassed ceremony spots up there, with views north to Cabarita and south to Pottsville. Permits go through the holiday park; book early because school holidays book out the campsite around it.

The Hastings Point foreshore reserves around the creek mouth and beach are Tweed Shire Council park-hire sites, available year-round on a council permit. Quieter and more sheltered than the headland, but without the panoramic view.

For the reception, most couples pair Hastings Point with Cabarita Beach SLSC, the Cabarita Beach Bowls Club, or Pottsville Beach Sports Club. Or a legal-only ceremony on the headland followed by dinner wherever you fancy. From $550.

Quick questions

The headland is managed by Tweed Holiday Parks, not directly by Tweed Shire Council. Bookings go through the holiday park office. There are three separate grassed ceremony spots so multiple ceremonies can happen on the same day. I'll help you pick the right one for your light and your guest count.

Yes — it's a north-facing headland, fairly exposed to wind from the south and east. I always check forecasts a few days out and we can pivot to the more sheltered foreshore reserves below the headland, or back to a covered venue at Cabarita or Pottsville.

Most stay at Cabarita Beach (5 min north) or Pottsville (5 min south), both of which have far more accommodation than Hastings Point itself. Some couples book out the holiday park onsite as their accommodation.

No. I live in Casuarina, ten minutes north. No travel fee for any wedding on the Tweed Coast.
